The civil war happened in 1861 when the South left the North. The South became the Confederacy and the North turned into the Union. It was one of the most Violent Wars of all times! About 12,000 people in Georgia were dead, injured or lost! The battle in Atlanta happened on July 22, 1864 The commander of the Confederacy was John Bell Hood and the Union's General is General James B. It was a great battle many lives were lost. But finally the North won against the South in 1865. 4 days after the war was done Abraham Licoln was assinated in the theater on April 14,1865 by John Wilkes Booth. Abraham Lincoln passed away at 7:22 A.M April 15, 1865. It was a sad moment in time for many people in the North. He will be most of the slaves favorite president of all time I'm sure he's mine he did what no other president dared to do stopped slavery.
